My baby is 3!!

Happy Birthday to my baby!!! Her birthday was on Saturday and I can't believe that she's 3! It feels like yesterday that I was pregnant with her and that she was an infant, time really does fly by. Aunt Neffie, as a part of her birthday present, took her to get her ears pierced and she did great! She got her birthstone and when the woman actually pierced it, she screamed and cried, but as soon as she saw the lollypop, all was good again! She is now proud to show off her earrings and will show them to everyone and anyone!

We had a small party for her yesterday (we had my Aunt's surprise 50th Saturday) and had a great day, she got so much stuff! That little girl is spoiled! :-) Even though Uncle Brian couldn't make it to the party, he made sure to stop by before work and bring her a Tinkerbell balloon along with other balloons, which she loved!!!!!

As I see Jenna grow each day, I can't get over how smart she's getting. Already she can spell and write her name. I'm so proud of her and I'm very thankful to have her in my life. I look forward to watching her grow each and every day.

Happy Monday (if there's such a thing) and until next time...

The bug that bit hard!

What a horrible past 2 days it's been! Everything was fine and dandy Tuesday until I got home. My stomach started to go crazy, so I decided to make some toast and drink some ginger ale just in case. Well....that did nothing. From 8pm until noon yesterday, I was praying to the porcelain gods! Apparently, I caught the nasty stomach bug that was going around! I didn't sleep whatsoever and barely got Jenna up and to school - but she was great, as soon as I told her to get dressed so we could go, she did!

Then last night, since Tom had to go to school, Jenna said to me "Mommy...we watch Tinkerbell in your room and make you all better?" How could you not love a kid like that?!?!? She is just too cute! So....we did!

I'm back at work today, feeling like someone beat me up with a baseball bat, but I'm here!

Hopefully this is the last that I see this bug!

Happy Thursday and until next time!

Maybe next year...

Last night was disappointing night in the Lawson house...the Eagles lost! UGH! No Super Bowl this year! They played good, but not good enough, and now the Cardinals are headed to the Super Bowl! That's alright, at least the Steelers are heading there too, so we have 1 PA team going! GO PITT!!

It was nice watching the game though, my best friend, her fiance and my cousin came over to watch the game. Jenna was ALL about her Uncle Teddy! They were downstairs in the basement watching the game and Jenna kept going "I want my Unk-a Teddy..." and kept trying to inch her way down there. Eventually, they caved and let her down and she spent the end of the game down there yelling and screaming right along with them! It was too cute!

For Super Bowl weekend, Tom is going up the mountains with the guys to watch the game - it's their annual man weekend, but this year they decided to do it Super Bowl weekend so they could watch the game. In turn, I'm having our own Mommy's Weekend here where all of the wives/fiances/girlfriends bring the kids and we veg out and just hang out without the men! It'll be fun, I can't wait!

I'm off today for MLK Jr. day, so I'm spending the day relaxing and in my PJ's and just doing whatever!

Have a great Monday and until next time...

**Editors Note: To Unk Dwayne and Aunt Reggie - am I doing better with keeping up the blog?? LOL!! Now that I'm keeping it up, LEAVE COMMENTS! LOL! LOL!!**

One Pin, Two Pin, Three Pin, Four!

Yesterday, my best friend, her fiance, her little sister, Tom, Jenna and I decided to go bowling! I don't care what anyone says, bowling is always fun!! We didn't know how Jenna was going to be since she's never bowled before, but she LOVED it! We all got a kick out of her wanting to push the ball down the lane with Daddy and she cheered and danced everytime she did it! She didn't care if she hit any pins or not! It was HILARIOUS!
This won't be the last time we take her bowling!

TGIF!

TGIF! After a long and exhausting week, we're ready for the weekend!!

Lexus is still with us, she has now been on her medication for the past week and although she's not moping anymore, she's still not walking on her leg. We're continuing with the medication for now and just taking it day by day, spending as much time as we can with her, spoiling her and just enforcing to her how much we love her. :-(

This weekend looks to be a good weekend for us - tonight is my usual foodshopping. You know, as I think about it, my life has really changed in the past 5 years! Before, Friday nights and Saturday nights consisted of relaxing until 9pm, then getting ready for the next hour and out the door at 10pm and hitting up the local scene for a night of drinking and dancing with all of our friends! Now...foodshopping and getting excited because of how much was saved when going foodshopping and in bed by 10pm! Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't change my life for anything in the world - but it just cracks me up how things change! :-)

Saturday is open, as of right now we don't have any plans, but I might get together with a friend and her son so the kiddies can play. Then Saturday night, we're taking Jenna bowling! Yup, bowling! My best friend and her fiance are taking her little sister and asked if we wanted to come to! Tom is still fighting his cold, so he might have to back out, but we'll see how he feels.

Sunday - the big game is on!! COME ON EAGLES!!! This is going to be a great game to watch! It will be great if they could make it to the Superbowl again and even better if they can win so we can have 2 Philadelphia Championships!!

Monday I have off from work, so I'm thinking I'm going to spend the day relaxing!

I'm going to keep up with this blog now - thanks to my favorite Unk and Aunt down in FL that religiously read this and when I fall behind, I get a friendly email reminder that it's been a while! LOL!! *giving big cheesy smile*

Happy Friday and until next time...

Devistating...

This weekend was devistating in the Lawson house. We found out Saturday that Lexus, our beloved Rottie, has bone cancer and there's nothing more that we can do for her. We have medication that we can give her to ease her pain, she can't walk on her back left leg, but she's managing to get around.

She's been limping for a while, but then it stopped so we thought that she just hurt herself running around in the back yard. Friday night is when it got really bad, so I called the vet to get her in on Saturday and Tom took her. At first, they thought that it was just a torn ACL or worse, hip dysplasia (we were fearing that she was going to have surgery for that!) and took x-rays and when it came back, it showed that she had bone cancer and that was the lump we found on her leg. :-( They said that they could do a biopsy and possibly amputate her leg, but the quality of her life would go down.

Right now she's moping and doesn't do much, it's just sad. We're going to carry out the medication with her and then after that, we have to have her put down. I feel so bad for Tom, I'm heartbroken, but he is just so upset about this because that was his buddy. It just stinks because she's around right now, but knowing what the outcome is going to be is so hard. It was just last year that we had to make the decision to have Mercedes put down! When I was talking to people about it, they felt bad and said that in time, maybe we could get another dog, but I think we're done with dogs because of what we've had to go through in the past year. We're dog lovers, but we can't go through this again, to come home knowing what's going to happen and to see that mentally she's still the same dog, but physically she's dying and we have to make that hard decision to let her go.

My question is this...how do we get through this? How do we come home and realize that it's now a quiet house instead of being greeted at the door by an overly excited dog that doesn't have a tail, but wags her butt? Lexus was the one that made it easy to cope with the loss of Mercedes, she made it ok after a while. I know we have to come to terms with the fact that we're doing the best and that she's suffering and this is no life for her...but...it's just way to hard...

A lot of updating!!!

Sorry, there will be no pictures in this post - I will upload them all to here tonight! :-)

A lot has happened since I last blogged! WOW! Where do I begin!

Christmas Eve / Day - Christmas was great in the Lawson house! Jenna was so much fun this year! She got SO excited the days leading up! All throughout December, we talked about Santa and about Christmas. Christmas Eve was great, we had it at our house, my parent's, Steph and the kids (poor Brian had to work and when Jenna found out, she got really sad, but Uncle Brian made up for it by giving her a call! Cheered her right up!), my Aunt and her boyfriend, my cousin and his girlfriend and then later on, my other cousin and his wife. It was just really nice to have the whole family over! Christmas Day was a blast, of course Jenna got spoiled and loved EVERYTHING that Santa got for her! I can't complain either, Tom/Jenna/Santa got me a GPS (which I'm TOTALLY geeking over) and a beautiful vanity for our bedroom. My parents were there in the morning and then later on that day, Tom's parent's came over for dinner. All around it was just a great day!

New Year's Eve / Day - Pajama Jam was back on this year!!! We had a great turnout, a ton of food, and an engagement!! The night started out by everyone coming, playing rockband and just hanging out. Everyone brought some kind of dish, snack, so we had a ton of food! Thank God for Tom's cousin Steph, she offered to watch the kids for Steph so she could come! She couldn't miss this one, one of my best friends (who we've known since we were young!) got engaged!! It was awesome, right when the ball dropped, everyone said their Happy New Years and then all eyes were on them (a lot of us knew what was going to happen), camera's ready! He got down on one knee and did it! Of course her reaction was "OHMYGOD! Are you serious?!? What are you doing?!? Are you serious?!?" and the tears were flowing! She couldn't believe it! Then...we nailed them with Silly String! HA! They were COVERED! Poor girl couldn't stop crying, even afterwards, she cried for a good 45 minutes! It was great, we couldn't be happier for the two of them!

Potty Training - Oh, where to begin! We've been potty training Jenna now for a LONG time. It all started when she was about one and a half, she had interest in the potty, so we bought her one and she went from there! Since then, we've dealt with underwear boycotts, pull ups, and then the interest of the potty going away completely. Our method was to not force it on her, it'll happen when it happens, but to let it get to a certain point before we put her in underwear all the time, no more pull ups. That time has come. She's been in underwear all the time now for almost a month and it's going pretty good! Of course she has her accidents, but for the most part, she's doing great with it! At school, she has no accidents - I'm guessing because kids are going potty all day long there and she wants to be just like them. When she's at home, she tends to forget that she has underwear on, so she has accidents. But she only has 1-2 a day, the rest of the day, she does great! No pooping in the potty yet, but she's getting there. She hates that I have to throw out her underwear when she poops, I'm sorry, I'm not scrubbing! LOL!! LOL!! So, the potty training continues!

The Twin's 4th Birthday - My wonderful neices are turning 4 this Saturday!!! I can't believe that they are 4 already! I remember the day that they were born when we had them on the hospital bed, side by side, just going crazy with taking pictures! They've grown so much and they are so different with their personalities - it's amazing! We're looking forward to spending their birthdays with them!

Jenna's 3rd Birthday - *gulp* Jenna's birthday is coming up on the 24th, I can't believe she's going to be 3! Where the hell did the time go?!? Her birthdays are always hard for me, I guess because she's growing up so fast! 1st birthday, forget it, I cried and couldn't see the candles when it was time to blow them out. 2nd birthday, did much better, only cried a little bit and no one saw. 3rd birthday, hoping that I'm better this year and won't cry at all! HA! But I'll keep you posted on that.

To everyone, sorry this took so long, but Happy New Year! Here's to a great 2009!
