Home Decorating and a Slumber Party!

This weeked was a nice weekend! For once, Tom wasn't working on Saturday, so I took that and ran with it! HA! I put that man to work! As you may know, the one wall in our living room has been bare nekkid for the past...oh...4 years. I couldn't find anything that I would want up there! I heard it from everyone and their mother that I needed to get something for that wall! For Mother's Day, Jenna *cough, Tom, cough* got me these really cool wall sconces and then this big center wall candle thingy - ok, don't know the technical name for it but you get my drift. LOL! Yesterday, I put him to work putting that up on the wall. Well, when he was done, I was looking at it going "Um...it's not done, there needs to be more!" I call my Mom, tell her I'm picking her up in 15 minutes and then we're going to get some more wall stuff at this really cute store that is right around the corner from her. An hour later and several bags, I finally found everything that I needed to complete the wall! TA-DA!!!! It's kind of hard to see in the picture below, but I love it - now I don't have a nekkid wall! :-)

Also, you'll see below, Jenna was Daddy's little helper all day too! Her favorite tool was the drill! HA!!!

Then, Steph and the kiddies came over and we all went out for ice cream and then afterwards, came back here to play for a while. Well, as it was getting time to leave, the girls didn't want to go! We called Uncle Tommy up to see if Brit would ask him if she could sleep over. From past experiences, he's been the voice of reason, so he thought he was coming up here to help get them out to the car! Long story short, that didn't happen and they spent the night and had a fun slumber party! I had an interesting conversation with the girls this morning, gotta love the minds of a 2 and 3 year old!!! HA!!!

Hope everyone had a great weekend as well!!! :-)

Cousin Lurve!!!

When I picked up Jenna from school today, the first thing I noticed was a scratch that went down the side of her cheek! My poor baby! Her teacher told me that apparently, one of the other little girls was playing with this wand thing and scratched Jenna down the side of the face. I'm assuming it was an accident because the little girl that did it is a good friend of Brit, Leann and Jenna - she's a sweet little girl, not like those other bad asses! LOL! Anyway, the teacher is telling me that as soon as it happened, she went and cleaned it off and put some Neosporin on it.

Apparently, on the ride home from school, Leann had told Steph that when Hailey scratched Jenna, she took her sandle off and hit her with it. She was sticking up for Jenna!!! I'm sure Leann didn't know that it was an accident, she just saw it happen to Jenna and I guess she was thinking that no one hurts or makes Jenna cry...only they can! LOL! Gotta love that cousin lurve!!!

Below are pics of the scratch - really, its nothing. Jenna has forgotten all about it already!

*loud, obnoxious yawn*

**Editor's Note - I completely forgot to put in my post below that we saw Angela and Gina at Bouncing Off The Walls!! They were coming in as we were leaving, but hopefully soon we'll be able to take the Mattoi kids, Jenna and Gina there at once!!

I am seriously dragging today - Jenna had another bad dream last night. She woke up at 2am and everytime I calmed her down and put her back in bed, she'd wake up 2 seconds later. Finally, I decided to bring her downstairs and put her on her little couch that pulls out and I slept on the big couch right next to her. We finally fell asleep at 4am. At one point, I had the TV on downstairs, well I turned that off and she goes "Mah-mee...I can't see...I can't see!" so I tell her that the TV is broken and to close her eyes - and she did! LOL!!

I talked to her this morning and I asked her why she cried last night and she said to me "Um...dah-dee depped on my duckied an' he cwied." So, I'm guessing she had a bad dream that Tom stepped on her stuffed duck and her duck cried, which made her wake up crying. But she wouldn't go back to bed after that. Wait until I tell Tom THAT one!! HA!

I then tell her that her duckie was alright and Daddy didn't step on him and that he didn't have any boo-boo's. I showed her the duck and she goes "No boo-boo's?? Oh!" OH?!?!? That's it?!?!? Had I have known that, I would have done that at 2am this morning!!!

*loud obnoxious yawn again*

Mother's Day Weekend and Monday Blahness!

This past weekend was a great weekend! Saturday morning, Jenna and I went to go and play with my friend Sondra and her son Tristan - we went to Bouncing Off The Walls. That place is so much fun for the kids, they have all kinds of stuff for them to do and play with! We were there until about 10:30am and then after that, Jenna and I went home, had some lunch and took a nice little nap. After that, we went to my friend Chrissy's house to check out their new place! They are doing a ton of work on it, so from what it was to what it is now, it looks GREAT! Saturday night was spent just lounging around and relaxing.

Sunday was a great Mother's Day for me! Jenna gave me my presents (which was some decorative wall stuff and seasons 1 through 4 of Sex In The City) and then her and Daddy went to his parent's house. Him and his brother went to go plant some flowers for their Mom. I went to my Mom's house and gave her gifts. Tom and I decided that he would go to his Mom's with Jenna and I would go to my Mom's so then it didn't feel like we were driving all day. After all, it is my day too, right? Like my Mom told me, they had years of Mother's Days with us, now its our turn! I was there for a few hours with the Mattoi's and then after lunch, I went home.

The rest of the day consisted of me laying on the couch with my feet up in the air just relaxing! Tom not only did everything around the house, but he made dinner for me (one of my fav's - Chicken Marsala) and got a cake for dessert. Then, after dinner, we all hung out and then Tom put Jenna to bed.

It was a great weekend!

Now...today...Monday blahness - the weather is shitty and rainy and cold and I'm ready to go home and put on my comfy pants. This morning, I was trying to get Jenna to say that she wanted to stay home with me today - she wouldn't say it! HA!

Hope all of the Mommies had a great Mommy's Day!! :-)

To All Mommy's!

To all of the Mommy's out there - Happy Mother's Day!!

An open letter to my daughter:

Jenna,

With Mother's Day coming up, I want to take this opportunity to express the joy that I feel with being your Mommy. Every morning when I wake up and see you smiling face, I truly feel blessed that you are my daughter. Never in my life did I ever think that I would have someone as special as you. I think about the past 2 years and I am proud of all that you have done, the day you took your first step, the day you tried that certain food for the first time, the day you sat on that big girl swing, the day you went down the slide all by yourself, the day you realized that cake is the best thing on earth, there's so much that I could go on and on. I love how proud you get of yourself when you give me the gifts that you make at school (recently the crown you made me to wear on Mother's Day that says Queen for the Day, which I will wear!). You love telling me what you did and how you did it.

I can remember the day that you were born, although it was very painful for Mommy, I wouldn't have changed it for anything. I remember the feeling that I had the second you were put in my arms, the range of emotions that I had and then it hit me - she's perfect. Even though you like to push my buttons from time to time, I'm realizing that you just want to be independent and want to do things on your own. You are a very determined little girl!

I don't need a day to know that you appreciate the things that I do for you, I see this each and every day with the hugs, kisses, thank you's and I love you's. I am so proud of you and I will continue to be proud of each and every thing you do. No matter what, I will always be here for you to support you and help guide you through whatever may come your way.

Love always,

Mommy

Hello Out There!

I know its been a while since I have blogged - I went on a blogging spree for a bit there! LOL! Right now, my laptop is out of commission. Somehow, Tom seemed to mess up my wireless router and now I have no internet service going to my laptop. I refuse...yes, that's right...REFUSE to use my home PC. Even though its hooked up now, I can't just pop my memory card in there and download the pictures and do all kinds of fancy-schmancy stuff all while sitting on my butt on my trusty couch while watching The Real World reruns on MTV!

Hopefully soon he'll figure out what the issue is and fix it. Trust me, I have a lot of pictures and stories to share along with those pictures!

Until then...*lighting candle and holding a vigil over wireless router*
