*glaring*
That's all I got the other day when I had to break it to Jenna that Uncle Bi-nan wasn't going to be at school. Just a little background, Jenna ADORES Uncle Brian (Steph's husband). She doesn't want to play with him, she doesn't want to talk to him, she just wants to be in the same room as him and wants to be held by him the whole time. Its the cutest thing ever. If you ask Brian about it, he'll tell you that the only way he'll get a hug is when Jenna is around, and its the truth! She's not like that with anyone else but him!
Every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, I always get Jenna excited for school by telling her that Anthony, Brittany and Leann are going to be at school. Never fails, every day, she asks if Uncle Bi-nan is going to be there. Every day I have to tell her "No honey, he's working." and she's fine with that answer. Well - this past Wednesday, Brian had off from work, so he took the kids in to school so when we pulled up, he made a liar out of me. She was SO happy to see him, it was as if we just bought her a new puppy! She got her hug and he held her and then we went into school and she was good. Then, when I went to pick her up, Brian and I timed it so then we would arrive at the same time. Again, when we walked into school together, Jenna freaked and ran right to him and didn't want him to put her down.
Fast forward to Thursday.........its the usual morning and I'm telling her that Anthony, Brittany and Leann are at school waiting for her and how exciting is that! Here is how the rest of the morning went:
Amy: JENNA! Let's go to school! Anthony and Brittany and Leann are waiting for you!
Jenna: YAY! AND UNCLE BI-NAN!!!!
Amy: No honey, not today, he's at work.
Jenna: *scowling* No work. Uncle Bi-nan school!
Amy: No honey, that was yesterday, not today, he's at work.
Jenna: *glaring at me, eyes filling with tears*
She then goes on to cry and fights with me getting her jacket on, getting her hat on, getting in the car, getting strapped in and the whole ride to school, she won't talk to me, won't say anything and when I look at her through the rear view mirror, I'm getting death glares. We get to school and she fights with me taking her jacket and hat off and when I pick her up to take her into her room, she's kicking me. I put her down, she goes and sits on her teacher's lap and then continues to glare at me. So, I'm trying to give her a kiss goodbye and tell her I love her and to have a good day and what does she do? Glare at me again and goes "No good day! No bye!"
I tell her teacher what happened and she just laughs and shakes her head. I'm telling you, if it was up to my daughter, she'd hang out with Uncle Bi-nan ALL DAY LONG! I asked Steph if he would quit his job and hang out with her all day, but she didn't think that would be possible!
